About the Role

Bulyanhulu Gold Mine is seeking a Corporate Communication Officer to manage corporate branding, media messaging, and internal communications in line with Barrick’s global communication standards. The successful candidate will help strengthen employee engagement, protect the company’s corporate identity, and support strategic communication initiatives across Barrick Tanzania operations.

Key Responsibilities

Internal Communications

  • Implement Barrick’s Internal Communications Strategy.
  • Manage the In-Reach Program to deliver timely and consistent communication to employees.
  • Promote Barrick’s DNA and organizational culture across all levels.
  • Create engaging content for internal communication platforms.

Corporate Communications & Branding

  • Develop and execute the country communication strategy with leadership.
  • Ensure all communication materials comply with Barrick’s corporate identity and branding standards.
  • Manage branding for industry events, exhibitions, media briefings, and forums.
  • Support advertising campaigns that promote Barrick’s image, achievements, and community initiatives.

Digital & Media Management

  • Manage digital communication platforms supporting both internal and external communication.
  • Produce content for:
    • Social media
    • Corporate communication channels
    • External publications
  • Assist with media relations, press materials, and stakeholder communications.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Collaborate with HR, CSR, and operational teams on communication campaigns.
  • Support communication initiatives across Barrick’s Africa & Middle East (AME) operations when required.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Compliance & Reporting

  • Ensure compliance with Barrick communication policies and reporting requirements.
  • Capture and share success stories supporting corporate initiatives such as the Journey to Zero program.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in:
    • Communications
    • Public Relations
    • Journalism
    • Marketing
    • Or a related field.

Experience & Skills

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in:
    • Corporate Communications
    • Journalism
    • Public Relations
  • Experience with:
    • Graphic design software
    • Digital media management
  • Excellent writing, editing, and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong storytelling and content creation ability.
  • Knowledge of:
    • Social media management
    • Content management systems (CMS)
    • Email marketing platforms
    • Communication analytics tools
  • Experience in:
    • Media relations
    • Press release writing
    • Media monitoring
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work under pressure.
