Job Summary

The Country People Lead is the senior Human Resources leader responsible for developing and executing the People (HR) strategy across Tanzania. The role partners with the Country Leadership Team to translate business objectives into effective people strategies that drive growth, strengthen organizational culture, develop leadership capability, and improve employee experience.

The successful candidate will act as a strategic HR advisor, ensuring effective talent management, workforce planning, employee engagement, organizational effectiveness, and compliance with labour regulations.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Business Partnership

  • Partner with the Country Leadership Team to translate business strategy into people plans.
  • Provide strategic guidance on:
    • Organizational design
    • Workforce planning
    • Leadership effectiveness
    • Change management
  • Develop people-focused solutions that support business performance.
  • Promote a culture of:

2. Talent & Leadership Development

  • Lead implementation of the People Cycle across Tanzania.
  • Drive:
    • Talent management

    • Leadership development programmes
  • Analyze talent insights to support future workforce requirements.
  • Identify and develop critical talent pipelines.
  • Strengthen HR capabilities and leadership effectiveness through coaching and development.

3. Culture & Employee Experience

  • Champion Tanzania Breweries and AB InBev culture and values.
  • Use employee engagement survey results and people analytics to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Implement initiatives focused on:
    • Employee engagement
    • Inclusion

    • Retention
  • Ensure a positive employee experience throughout the employee lifecycle.

4. Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning

  • Partner with Talent Acquisition teams to support recruitment activities.
  • Ensure recruitment of high-quality talent.
  • Support effective employee onboarding and integration.
  • Work with leaders on workforce planning and capability development.

5. Learning & Capability Building

  • Assess current and future organizational capability needs.
  • Partner with Learning & Development teams to implement development solutions.
  • Promote continuous learning and professional growth.

6. Employee Relations & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with:
    • Labour laws
    • Company policies
    • Governance requirements
  • Provide leadership on employee relations matters.
  • Support resolution of complex employee cases.
  • Guide managers on fair and legally compliant HR practices.

7. Reward & Performance Management

  • Support annual performance target-setting processes.
  • Partner with HR Centers of Excellence on reward matters.
  • Ensure compliance with compensation and performance policies.
  • Promote a high-performance culture through effective HR practices.

Qualifications & Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in:
    • Human Resources
    • Industrial Psychology
    • Business Administration
    • Or related field.
  • Professional HR certification is an advantage:
    • CIPD
    • SHRM
    • HRCI
    • CHRP
    • CHRM
    • Equivalent certifications

Experience Required

  • 8–10 years of progressive Human Resources experience.
  • Minimum 3 years leading HR teams or managing HR functions within complex organizations.
  • Strong knowledge of:
    • Labour legislation
    • Employee relations
    • HR governance practices
  • Experience managing the complete employee lifecycle.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience in:
    • FMCG industry
    • Manufacturing environment
  • Experience partnering with:
    • Senior executives
    • Business leadership teams
  • Proven success delivering strategic HR initiatives.
