Job Title: Credit Administrator

Job Purpose

The Credit Administrator is responsible for overseeing operational credit administration functions, including:

  • Monitoring accounts showing early signs of risk
  • Managing non-performing assets (NPAs) and written-off accounts
  • Ensuring proper credit documentation and compliance
  • Supporting loan processing and recovery strategies

Key Responsibilities

1. Credit Documentation & Security Perfection

  • Process and verify:
    • Title deeds
    • Mortgages
    • Debentures
    • Personal and corporate guarantees
    • Letters of offer
  • Ensure accurate mortgage creation and system recording
  • Maintain organized and complete credit files

2. Valuation & Property Management

  • Obtain and review valuation reports
  • Track land rent receipts
  • Maintain knowledge of property laws and requirements

3. Loan Monitoring & Tracking

  • Maintain trackers for:
    • Undisbursed loans
    • Unperfected securities
    • Fees (legal, valuation, cash margins, etc.)
    • Pending documentation
  • Follow up with internal teams to clear outstanding items

4. Credit Quality & Risk Monitoring

  • Monitor portfolio performance and delinquency levels
  • Identify potential fraud or credit risk concerns
  • Ensure adherence to credit policies and approval guidelines

5. Compliance & Regulatory Adherence

  • Ensure compliance with:
    • Internal credit policies
    • Bank of Tanzania (BOT) regulations
    • Legal and regulatory requirements

6. Operational Efficiency

  • Ensure timely processing of credit activities
  • Manage loan disbursement coordination
  • Resolve operational issues with relevant departments

  • Basic analytical and risk identification skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office tools

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in:
    • Finance
    • Banking
    • Economics
    • Business Administration
    • Related field

Experience

  • 4–5 years in credit administration, loan processing, or banking operations

Added Advantage

  • Mortgage or property finance experience
  • Knowledge of loan documentation and securities perfection
  • Experience using Flexcube system
