Job Overview

Onfon Microfinance is seeking four (4) committed and results-oriented Debt Collectors to join its team. The successful candidates will be responsible for following up on overdue accounts, negotiating repayment arrangements, and ensuring timely recovery of outstanding payments while maintaining positive customer relationships.

Key Responsibilities

The Debt Collector will be responsible for:

• Contacting customers with overdue payments through phone calls and field visits.
• Following up with customers regarding outstanding balances.
• Negotiating suitable payment arrangements with customers.
• Recovering outstanding debts in line with company policies and procedures.
• Maintaining accurate records of collection activities and customer interactions.
• Preparing daily and weekly collection reports.
• Working closely with the Finance and Credit teams to improve debt recovery performance.
• Meeting assigned collection targets and maintaining professional customer relationships.

Qualifications & Requirements

Applicants should possess:

• Minimum of a Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in:
  • Business Administration
  • Finance
  • Accounting
  • Or a related field.
• Previous experience in debt collection or customer service will be an added advantage.
• Good communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet performance targets.
• Honesty, discipline, and a results-driven attitude.
• Fluency in Kiswahili.
• Proficiency in English will be an added advantage.
