Job Summary
DHL Supply Chain is seeking a Depot Clerk responsible for supporting warehouse operations through accurate stock receiving, dispatching, inventory control, documentation, and reporting. The role ensures efficient warehouse processes while maintaining safety standards and delivering quality service to clients.
Key Responsibilities
Warehouse Operations
- Receive and put away stocks from:
- Main warehouses.
- Other depots.
- Clients.
- Ensure all stock movements are processed accurately according to company procedures and supporting documents.
- Perform timely and accurate dispatch operations.
- Maintain accurate inventory records through correct system postings.
- Submit stock count reconciliations within required timelines.
- Ensure receipt, dispatch, high-risk stock handling, inventory control, and reporting are completed efficiently.
Inventory Management
- Ensure accurate receiving, dispatching, and storage of goods using warehouse systems such as SAGE.
- Record receipt and dispatch dates on items to support FIFO (First-In, First-Out) inventory management.
- Ensure warehouse stock is:
- Properly arranged.
- Clearly labelled.
- Stored in designated areas.
- Conduct stock reconciliation through cycle counts.
- Report stock variances before monthly stock takes for adjustment.
Safety and Compliance
- Follow all workplace safety rules and regulations.
- Maintain good housekeeping practices in offices and warehouse areas.
- Ensure no damage occurs to:
- Stock.
- Forklift trucks (FLT).
- Warehouse equipment and other assets.
- Immediately report any damages or safety concerns.
- Follow all security procedures.
Customer Service and Team Support
- Provide quality service to clients and customers.
- Maintain good public relations and customer management.
- Guide casual employees and ensure compliance with:
- Safety procedures.
- Workplace policies.
- Work collaboratively with warehouse teams.
Key Accountabilities
- Achieve accurate stock receiving and dispatch operations according to client Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- Maintain warehouse cleanliness and proper stock organization.
- Report areas requiring attention, including:
- Cleaning support.
- Equipment repairs.
- Warehouse improvements.
- Support continuous improvement of warehouse operations.
Required Qualifications
Education
- Secondary School Education.
- Fluent in:
- English (written and spoken).
- Swahili (written and spoken).
- IT literate.
Required Experience and Skills
Applicants should have:
- Computer literacy, including:
- Spreadsheet applications.
- Word processing documents.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a busy warehouse environment.
- Experience handling multiple tasks in multi-functional warehouses.
- Good customer service skills.
Preferred Experience
- Experience working in a telecommunications SKU warehouse for at least 3 years.
- Experience working in a busy multiple SKU warehouse for at least 5 years.

- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work with minimum supervision.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Good teamwork and customer relationship skills.
- Ability to manage multiple warehouse activities effectively.
