Job Summary

The Payment Specialist will be responsible for managing payment-related operations, including refunds, payment allocation, reconciliation, statement preparation, and verification of financial transactions. The role supports accurate financial processing while ensuring compliance with accounting procedures and company policies.

Key Responsibilities

1. Refund Payments

• Process refund requests from clients.
• Handle refunds for customer overpayment balances.

---

2. Assigning and Unassigning Payments

• Assist in assigning unidentified payments.
• Support assigning and unassigning down payments.
• Ensure payments are allocated to the correct clients.

---

3. Preparing YAS Disbursement and Collection Statements

• Support preparation of:
  • Daily YAS disbursement statements.
  • Weekly YAS disbursement statements.
  • Monthly YAS disbursement statements.
  • Monthly YAS collection reports.

---

4. Verifying Receipts

• Verify that receipts match the amounts paid.
• Approve payments after confirming receipt accuracy.

---

5. Importing Payment Statements

• Assist with importing payment statements from:
  • NMB Bank.
  • YAS.
  • Airtel.
• Ensure payment files are accurately imported every hour.

6. Repossession Costs and Reconciliation

• Process payments related to repossession costs when required.
• Perform daily and monthly payment reconciliations.
• Support the Finance Department in filing monthly cost records.

Required Qualifications

Applicants should have:

• Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in:
  • Accounting,
  • Finance, or
  • Related field.

Required Skills and Experience

• Strong understanding of:
  • Accounting principles.
  • Tanzanian financial regulations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Knowledge of ERP systems is an added advantage.
• Prior internship or work experience in accounting or finance is preferred.
