Mofat Transport and Logistics is a transportation and logistics operator in Tanzania, engaged in providing public transit solutions including Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) operational services in Dar es Salaam.
Job Summary
The BRT Bus Driver is responsible for operating Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) vehicles safely, attentively, and efficiently along designated urban transit corridors. The role ensures passenger safety, strictly adheres to bus schedules and traffic regulations, and delivers courteous customer service.
Duties & Responsibilities

Safe Vehicle Operation: Drive BRT buses safely, smoothly, and in strict compliance with speed limits, BRT lane rules, and national road safety regulations.

Passenger Safety & Support: Ensure orderly boarding and alighting of passengers, prioritizing safety, comfort, and special assistance for elderly or disabled passengers.

Route & Timetable Adherence: Maintain scheduled arrival and departure times across assigned stations and terminals.

Pre- & Post-Trip Inspections: Conduct routine daily checks of the vehicle (brakes, tires, fluids, indicators) before departing and after shifts.

Incident & Defect Reporting: Immediately report mechanical faults, accidents, road obstructions, or safety incidents to control room supervisors.

Customer Care: Interact with passengers professionally, maintain a welcoming environment, and assist with general inquiries.
Qualifications & Requirements

Education: Primary Education Certificate, Form IV (CSEE), or Form VI (ACSEE) from a recognized school.

Driving License: Valid Class C Driving License certified by the Tanzania Police Force.

Professional Certification: Passenger Service Vehicle (PSV) Driving Certificate from NIT (National Institute of Transport) or VETA.

Experience: Minimum of 3 years of verifiable driving experience handling passenger buses or heavy vehicles.

Key Skills: Strong knowledge of Tanzanian traffic laws, basic mechanical troubleshooting, excellent road awareness, and strong customer service skills.
