Profile and Skills
Proficient in: AutoCAD, QGIS, ArcGIS, and FTTH-specific software.
Skills: Rigor, sound knowledge of telecommunications standards, analytical skills, and the ability to resolve geographical and technical constraints.
The Role
We are looking for a motivated and skilled Design Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Feasibility Study and Site Survey
Review the specifications of the operator or local authority.
Analyze existing data (existing poles) to see where to run the cables.
- Network Design and Modeling
Use information systems to map cable routes.
Create precise execution plans for cabinets, wiring, box positioning and connections.
- Sizing and Technical Calculations
Calculate network capacities (number of fibers required, optical signal attenuation).
Check the resistance of the infrastructure (for example, the load on a wooden or concrete pole for an overhead line).
- Monitoring and updating
Once the work is completed, integrate the site modifications into the plans to provide the as-built drawings (the exact diagram of the network actually installed).
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Telecommunication
- Have at least 3 years of design experience
- Experience in the field of fiber optics to the home (FTTH) is an undeniable asset.
Remuneration: Is competitive and will be negotiated based on qualification and experience.
