Position: Systems Developer

Lemala Camps & Lodges is seeking an experienced Systems Developer to develop, maintain, and improve internal systems and technology solutions across East Africa. This role combines full-stack PHP development, database management, systems integration, and IT support to enhance operational efficiency across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Developing, testing, deploying, and maintaining PHP/MVC web applications.
• Building responsive user interfaces using JavaScript, Bootstrap, HTML, and CSS.
• Managing and optimizing MySQL/PostgreSQL databases and SQL queries.
• Integrating APIs and third-party systems.
• Troubleshooting application, database, server, and end-user issues.
• Identifying opportunities for automation and workflow improvements.
• Conducting code reviews to ensure clean, secure, and maintainable code.
• Training and supporting users on internally developed systems.
• Maintaining technical documentation and user guides.
• Collaborating with IT and business teams to deliver effective technology solutions.

Requirements

Applicants should possess:

• A minimum of 3 years’ experience in software development.
• Strong knowledge of PHP, MVC, JavaScript/jQuery, SQL, and relational databases.
• Experience with Bootstrap, Git, Windows, and Linux environments.
• Understanding of APIs, web servers, and basic networking concepts.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• A practical, user-focused approach to software development and IT support.
