Role Purpose and Goals
The Digital Education Supervisor will oversee up to 10 schools and support the long-term success of the MsingiTek program.
The successful candidate will ensure:
- All hardware remains functional
- Program sessions run smoothly and on schedule
- Learners receive at least 150 minutes of quality learning weekly
- Headteachers and teachers strengthen ownership of the program
- Teacher and learner attendance improve
- Equipment is properly managed
- Learning time remains stable or improves
- Schools gradually take independent ownership of the program
Key Responsibilities
1. Equipment and Infrastructure
Responsibilities include:
- Supporting installation of hardware and software
- Ensuring infrastructure and security improvements are completed before launch
- Supporting smooth program rollout in assigned schools
2. Equipment Monitoring
Key duties include:
- Monitoring equipment functionality during every school visit
- Identifying and reporting technical issues early
- Supporting quick resolution of problems
- Ensuring minimal disruption to learning sessions
3. Inventory and Tablet Scanning
Responsibilities include:
- Conducting monthly inventory and stock counts
- Performing tablet scanning exercises
- Ensuring accurate asset and equipment reporting
4. Teacher Training
The supervisor will:
- Conduct onboarding sessions for schools
- Organize additional training based on needs
- Share best practices for session and equipment management
- Promote ownership and proper equipment care
- Support improvement of weekly learning minutes per child
5. Community Sensitization
Responsibilities include:
- Conducting community awareness sessions
- Building long-term community support
- Promoting equipment ownership and care
- Encouraging student attendance and participation
6. Data Reporting
The Digital Education Supervisor will:
- Ensure 100% tablet data reporting compliance
- Identify and resolve non-reporting issues quickly
- Maintain data accuracy and integrity
7. Data Usage
Responsibilities include:
- Using data to provide actionable feedback
- Supporting data-driven discussions with stakeholders
- Teaching stakeholders how to interpret and use data independently
8. School Oversight
The successful candidate will:
- Visit schools weekly during early implementation
- Conduct bi-weekly visits after stabilization
- Increase visits where performance challenges exist
- Provide remote follow-ups when needed
9. Problem Solving
Responsibilities include:
- Working with Ward Education Officers and district officials
- Promoting collaborative problem-solving
- Supporting shared ownership of solutions
10. Government Engagement
The role will support:
- The MsingiTek Government Engagement calendar
- School-level and ward-level stakeholder engagements
- Data sharing with education stakeholders
- School leaders in presenting and interpreting results confidently
Required Qualifications and Experience
Candidates should possess:
- Bachelor’s Degree in:
- Community Development
- Education
- Or a related field
- At least 1 year of experience in:
- Community engagement
- Adult behavior change initiatives
- Experience working in rural communities
- Experience collaborating with government counterparts
- Experience supporting digital or technology-based programs
- Experience engaging teachers and headteachers
- Experience with data and MEAL processes
Preferred Experience and Qualities
