Haven of Peace Academy (HOPAC) is a faith-based educational institution owned and operated by the Haven of Peace Trust.
Founded in 1994 to serve the children of missionaries, HOPAC has grown into a Christian international school serving a diverse community that includes:
- Children of missionaries and full-time Christian service workers
- Children of expatriates working in non-profit and for-profit sectors
- Children of Tanzanians working in public, private, and non-profit organizations
The school is located in Kunduchi, at the junction of Salasala Road and Bagamoyo Road in Kinondoni Municipality, Dar es Salaam.
HOPAC follows the Cambridge Curriculum and is accredited by:
- Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI)
- Middle States Association (MSA)

Job Summary
The Director serves as the administrative and academic head of the school and reports directly to the Board of Governors.
The successful candidate will provide visionary, Christ-centered leadership to advance HOPAC’s mission of equipping students to live Christ-centered lives through excellence in Christian education.
Key Responsibilities
The Director will be responsible for:
Spiritual and Educational Leadership
- Providing spiritual, academic, administrative, and strategic leadership across all areas of the school.
- Ensuring the integration of a biblical worldview throughout school programs, culture, and community.
- Promoting excellence in Christian education.
Staff Leadership and Development
- Leading, mentoring, and developing administrators, teachers, and support staff.
- Fostering excellence in teaching and learning.
School Management
- Overseeing:
- School operations
- Budgeting and financial management
- Legal and regulatory compliance
- Facilities management
- Strategic planning
Accreditation and School Improvement
- Leading accreditation processes.
- Guiding school improvement initiatives.
- Developing and implementing long-term strategic plans.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Building strong relationships with:
- Parents
- Churches
- Government agencies
- Educational institutions
- The wider community
Fundraising and Development
- Leading fundraising efforts.
- Supporting school growth and long-term sustainability.
Required Qualifications and Experience
Applicants should possess the following:
Spiritual Requirements
- A clear conviction that God is directing them toward this position.
- Confidence in God’s faithfulness regarding this calling.
- Spiritual authority and pastoral care arrangements through:
- A sending mission agency,
- A local congregation in Tanzania, and/or
- A church in their country of origin.
Professional Requirements
- Excellent oral and written English communication skills.
- Experience working in multicultural environments.
- International or overseas administrative experience (preferred).
- Minimum of two (2) years of K–12 school administration experience (preferred).
Academic Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in:
- Primary Education, or
- Secondary Education
from a Western college or university.
- At least three (3) years of teaching experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Educational Administration.
- Demonstrated knowledge and practice of Christian Education.
