Established in 1994 for the children of missionaries, HOPAC has grown into a diverse Christian international school serving:

The school is located in Kunduchi at the junction of Salasala Road and Bagamoyo Road in Kinondoni Municipality, Dar es Salaam.

Position: Senior School Principal (Grades 9–12)

School Year: 2026/2027

Starting Date: August 2026

Reports To: Director

Leadership Role: Member of the School Management Team


Position Summary

HOPAC is seeking a dynamic and committed Christian leader to serve as Senior School Principal for Grades 9–12.

The successful candidate will provide leadership for the Senior School by overseeing academic excellence, student development, staff leadership, and the day-to-day operations of the division while ensuring alignment with the school’s Christian mission and values.


Key Responsibilities

Academic Leadership

  • Provide instructional leadership and oversee curriculum implementation.
  • Monitor student achievement and assessment practices.
  • Promote high academic standards and continuous improvement.

Christian School Culture

  • Foster a Christ-centered learning environment.
  • Ensure school activities and programs reflect HOPAC’s mission, vision, and values.
  • Model biblical leadership and Christian character.

Student Development

  • Support students’ academic, social, emotional, and spiritual growth.
  • Promote student well-being and positive engagement.

Staff Leadership

  • Lead, mentor, and develop teaching staff.
  • Encourage professional growth and excellence in teaching and learning.

Community Engagement

  • Build strong partnerships with parents.
  • Maintain effective communication with the wider school community.

School Operations

  • Oversee:
    • Admissions
    • Student transitions
    • Examinations
    • Extracurricular activities
    • Daily Senior School operations

Resource Management

  • Manage budgets and resources effectively.
  • Ensure efficient delivery of the Senior School program.

Required Qualifications and Experience

Applicants must possess:

Faith and Leadership Requirements

  • Be a committed Christian in full agreement with HOPAC’s Statement of Faith.
  • Demonstrate the ability to lead from a biblical worldview.
  • Serve as a strong Christian role model.

Academic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Educational Leadership.
  • Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership or a related field is preferred.

Professional Experience

  • Minimum of three (3) years of school leadership experience.
  • Experience in multicultural educational settings is highly desirable.

Skills and Competencies

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal abilities.
  • Familiarity with the Cambridge International Curriculum is preferred.
