Job Purpose
The Drill Product Master serves as the technical product specialist within the Sales Area, acting as the primary link between the Sales Area and Sandvik’s Equipment Product Line/Factory. The role focuses on developing product solutions, supporting customers, and ensuring high equipment performance throughout the product lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will:
- Monitor and provide accurate Machine Life Operating Cost (MLOC) information.
- Investigate warranty claims and provide technical feedback to improve customer satisfaction.
- Perform second-line troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
- Collect technical feedback from customers and maintain technical databases.
- Recommend process improvements based on technical reports.
- Perform system adjustments on customer equipment.
- Develop proactive solutions to prevent recurring equipment problems.
- Provide application and technical support to the sales team.
- Support product launches, testing, commissioning, and market introductions.
- Assist with operational readiness for major projects.
- Support New Product Development (NPD) activities.
- Provide aftermarket technical support to equipment divisions and sales teams.
- Coach, mentor, and train employees while facilitating knowledge transfer between factories and sales areas.
- Collaborate with the Parts & Services division on technical training initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with Safety, Health, Environment, Quality (SHEQ), and company policies.
Qualifications & Experience
Applicants should possess:
- A trade qualification or equivalent qualification in:
- Mechanical Engineering
- Electrical Engineering
- Hydraulic Systems
- Minimum 7 years of experience maintaining Sandvik underground drilling equipment in the underground mining industry.
- Extensive knowledge of underground drilling machines and operating principles.
- Strong understanding of the Sandvik product range.
Required Skills
The ideal candidate should have:
- Advanced technical troubleshooting skills.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to build long-term customer relationships.
- Training and mentoring experience (preferred).
