Job Summary
The Driver Grade II will be responsible for providing safe and reliable transportation services while ensuring proper vehicle maintenance, compliance with traffic regulations, and accurate journey documentation.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Drive institutional vehicles according to road traffic rules and regulations.
- Inspect vehicles before and after journeys to identify maintenance requirements.
- Ensure vehicle tools and equipment are available and in good working condition, including:
- Jack
- Spanner
- Spare tyre
- Other essential equipment.
- Perform minor and routine vehicle maintenance.
- Ensure vehicle doors and windows are properly secured at all times.
- Maintain vehicle cleanliness.
- Record all journeys and maintain accurate logbook records.
- Assist in collecting and distributing official mails.
- Report accidents immediately to the supervisor or Traffic Police.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor.
Required Qualifications
Applicants must have:
- Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (Form IV) or Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (Form VI).
- Valid Class C or E Driving Licence.
- Basic Driving Course certificate from:
- Vocational Education and Training Authority (VETA), or
- Any recognized institution.
- Training certificates relevant to the required driving rank.
- At least one year of driving experience without causing an accident.
Added Advantage
- Trade Test Grade II / Level II in:
- Motor Vehicle Maintenance, or
- Motor Vehicle Mechanics.
