About the Role

LJ Ascendant Group is seeking a qualified Environmental Specialist to oversee environmental compliance, sustainability initiatives, and mitigation measures during the construction of an airport project.

The successful candidate will ensure that all construction activities comply with local environmental regulations, international environmental standards, and the project-specific Environmental Management Plan (EMP).

Key Responsibilities

The Environmental Specialist will be responsible for:

• Implementing, monitoring, and enforcing the Project Environmental Management Plan (EMP) on-site.
• Conducting regular environmental audits covering:
  • Noise control
  • Dust suppression
  • Waste management
  • Spill prevention
  • Water runoff management
• Acting as the main liaison between the project and:
  • Local environmental authorities
  • Regulatory bodies
  • Community representatives
• Preparing:
  • Environmental compliance reports
  • Environmental incident investigation reports
  • Sustainability documentation
• Providing environmental awareness training and toolbox talks to site personnel.

Qualifications & Requirements

Applicants must have:

• Bachelor’s Degree in:
  • Environmental Science
  • Environmental Engineering
  • Environmental Management
  • Related field
• Experience serving as an Environmental Expert or Environmental Specialist on at least one airport construction project within the last 10 years.
• Strong knowledge of:
  • Local environmental legislation
  • Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) frameworks
  • International environmental standards, including ISO 14001
• Professional certification in environmental management or auditing will be an added advantage.
