Position

Finance Generalist Intern Apprentice

Location: Dar es Salaam, Tanzania


Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Preparing and regularly distributing Customer Statements of Account (Aging Reports), including through the GetPaid application.
  • Organizing and participating in credit management (debtor review) meetings with the Sales team and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Supporting the achievement of PDR targets by implementing customer collection strategies, conducting regular accounts receivable follow-ups, and preparing collection reports.
  • Identifying customers requiring legal action, including issuing demand notices, and following up with the General Manager, Chief Financial Officer, and Legal Counsel.
  • Supporting Delivery Order (DO) and Bill of Lading (BL) release processes by conducting financial reviews and validating or rejecting release requests.
  • Reviewing customer credit applications and monitoring the approval process.
  • Performing quarterly reconciliations between container deposits and containers currently in use.
  • Identifying, monitoring, and following up on customer disputes to ensure timely resolution.
  • Investigating and resolving unidentified or unapplied customer transactions, including matching and clearing outstanding items.
  • Assessing customer requests related to container revolving deposit contracts, creditworthiness, and container guarantees.
  • Monitoring container deposit refund requests to ensure timely processing.
  • Reconciling container deposits and refunds while facilitating the clearing of related financial transactions.
  • Maintaining professional communication with customers and internal stakeholders through calls, meetings, and written correspondence.
  • Performing any other duties assigned by the employer.
