Job Title: Finance Manager Cum Accountant

Role Purpose
The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all financial and accounting operations, ensuring sound financial management, effective internal controls, manufacturing cost management, statutory compliance, and timely financial reporting to support business growth and operational excellence.
General Responsibilities
Financial Management
-
Oversee the day-to-day financial operations of the manufacturing division.

Prepare and monitor annual budgets, financial forecasts, and cash flow projections.

Develop and implement sound financial controls, policies, and procedures.

Monitor business performance, operational costs, and profitability.

Provide financial insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.
Accounting & Financial Reporting
-
Maintain accurate accounting records and ensure timely preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.

Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, payroll, and general ledger activities.
-
Ensure the integrity and accuracy of financial data and reporting.

Coordinate month-end and year-end closing processes.
Cost Accounting & Inventory Management
-
Develop and maintain effective manufacturing costing systems.
-
Monitor production costs, raw material usage, wastage, and operational efficiencies.
-
Analyse cost variances and recommend corrective actions.
-
Oversee inventory valuation, stock reconciliations, and inventory controls.
-
Maintain fixed asset registers and depreciation schedules.
Budgeting & Financial Planning
-
Develop departmental budgets and monitor expenditure against approved budgets.

Prepare financial forecasts and management reports.

Conduct variance analysis and recommend cost optimisation initiatives.

Support long-term financial planning and business performance improvement.
Compliance & Risk Management
-
Ensure compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements, including TRA, VAT, PAYE, SDL, NSSF, WCF, and other applicable legislation.

Coordinate internal and external audits.

Ensure timely submission of statutory returns and tax obligations.

Strengthen internal controls and safeguard company assets.
Leadership
-
Supervise and provide guidance to the finance team.

Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and financial discipline.

Collaborate closely with production, procurement, stores, and senior management to support business objectives.
Qualifications & Experience
-
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, Business Administration, or a related field.

Professional Qualification: CPA (T), ACCA, or an equivalent professional accounting qualification will be an added advantage.

Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools, proficiency in accounting software, and ERP systems.

Experience: Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in accounting and financial management, preferably within a manufacturing environment.

Industry Knowledge: Experience in manufacturing cost accounting and inventory management is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of Tanzanian tax legislation and statutory compliance requirements.
