Position Summary
The Financial Controller will provide leadership and direction for all finance-related functions across AUMS Geofields Tanzania Limited’s operations and administration.
The role is responsible for managing:
- Financial reporting
- Accounting operations
- Tax compliance
- Statutory reporting
- Payroll oversight
- Cashflow management
- Administration functions
while ensuring compliance with both Tanzanian and Australian legal requirements, as well as corporate policies and regulations.
Key Accountabilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
Financial Reporting
- Preparation of monthly financial reports.
- Ensuring accurate and timely month-end reporting.
- Maintaining and reconciling general ledger accounts.
- Completing balance sheet reconciliations within required timelines.
Accounts Payable and Receivable Management
- Overseeing accounts payable processes.
- Ensuring timely payment of reconciled supplier balances.
- Supervising accounts receivable functions.
- Managing reconciliation of intercompany accounts and external supplier balances.
Tax Compliance
- Reviewing and submitting statutory tax filings, including:
- Value Added Tax (VAT)
- Pay As You Earn (PAYE)
- Withholding Taxes
- Other statutory obligations
Audit Coordination
- Coordinating and supporting:
- Half-year audits
- Annual audits
- Government audits
- Compliance reviews
Cashflow and Working Capital Management
- Monitoring cashflow requirements.
- Managing working capital efficiently.
- Supporting financial planning and operational sustainability.
Team Leadership and Supervision
- Supervising finance and accounting personnel.
- Providing guidance and training to accounting staff.
- Managing:
- Accounting operations
- Taxation activities
- Payroll functions
- Accounts payable processes
Budgeting and Forecasting
- Assisting in preparation of:
- Annual budgets
- Financial forecasts
- Management reports
Professional Conduct
- Maintaining high standards of professionalism, conduct, and presentation.
- Upholding company values and ethical standards.
Key Functions
The Financial Controller will:
- Ensure accurate maintenance of accounting records.
- Ensure finance personnel perform their duties effectively and ethically.
- Monitor and control accounting functions.
- Ensure financial reports are delivered within stipulated timelines.
- Promote effective communication within the organization.

Qualifications
Applicants must possess:
Academic Qualifications
- Advanced tertiary qualification in:
- Accounting
- Finance
- Commerce
- Related disciplines
Professional Certification
One of the following is required:
- CPA
- ACCA
- CA
- Or another internationally recognized accounting certification
Other Requirements
- Ability to pass AUMSGT pre-employment medical examination.
- Ability to pass police clearance and security background checks.
Experience Requirements
Applicants must have:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar accounting or finance leadership role.
- Strong experience in:
- Financial reporting
- Tax management
- Budgeting
- Audit coordination
- Team supervision
- Cashflow management
Experience within mining, construction, engineering, or large multinational organizations will be an added advantage.
