Job Purpose

The Financial Planner will be responsible for providing accurate, relevant and timely management reporting to support effective business decision-making.

The role will also provide value-adding financial and analytical insights and coordinate budgeting, forecasting and reporting cycles to support strong financial performance.

Key Responsibilities

1. Management Reporting & Forecasting

• Prepare accurate, timely and insightful management reports.
• Prepare financial forecasts to support business planning and decision-making.
• Provide analytical insights on financial performance.

2. Budget Management

• Work with budget holders to understand key cost and revenue drivers.
• Use identified drivers to develop appropriate cost and revenue forecasts.
• Prepare cost dashboards to monitor costs and financial KPIs.
• Attend monthly meetings with relevant budget holders.
• Monitor costs to ensure they remain within approved budgets.
• Review budget versus actual expenditure and revenue.
• Assist budget holders with financial queries.
• Investigate significant budget variances.
• Support budget holders in implementing corrective actions to address variances.

3. Fuel Cost Administration

• Manage day-to-day administration of fuel tokens.
• Coordinate monthly allocation of fuel costs.
• Prepare accurate and timely fuel reports.

4. Purchase Requisitions

Prepare periodic purchase requisitions for major cost elements, including:

• Fuel
• Electricity
• Cane haulage
• Plant hire costs

5. Month-End Financial Reporting

• Prepare and submit month-end journals on time.
• Ensure appropriate and accurate financial reporting within relevant sections.

Qualifications & Experience

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy, Business Administration or equivalent.

Experience

• 3+ years’ experience in Accountancy or a relevant field.

• ACCA Certification
