Position Overview

AUMS Geofields Tanzania Limited is seeking a Graduate Mining Engineer to support mining operations by assisting Senior Mining Engineers and site management with technical mining activities, production monitoring, cost analysis, reporting, and operational improvement initiatives.

The successful candidate will join the AUMS Graduate Program, gaining practical underground mining experience while developing technical and leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Comply with health, safety, and environmental policies.
• Follow mining safety regulations and procedures.
• Conduct pre-start equipment checks.
• Monitor mining production against contract and client schedules.
• Support underground mining technical activities.
• Analyze mining performance and identify cost reduction opportunities.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly performance reports.
• Update underground development progress and operational tracking systems.
• Monitor production performance and delays.
• Support Quality Assurance programs.
• Assist in monthly mining reconciliation processes.
• Maintain strong relationships with clients and ensure contractual requirements are met.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mining Engineering.
• Strong commitment to workplace safety.
• Proactive attitude toward risk management.
• Understanding of:
  • Mining equipment capabilities
  • Workforce productivity
  • Underground mining operations
• Ability to work independently and apply established mining standards.

Preferred Skills & Experience

• Willingness to complete AUMS Geofields Tanzania’s 2-year Graduate Program in underground operational roles.
• Experience or exposure to underground mining environments.
• Knowledge of mining software and reporting tools such as:
  • Excel
  • Minrep
  • Deswik
  • Vulcan
  • DataMine
• Ability to prepare mining reports and present technical information.
• Ability to communicate effectively with operational teams and clients.
• Understanding of mine reporting systems.
• Ability to mentor vocational engineers and support mine control reporting.

Added Advantages

• Valid Tanzanian Driver’s Licence.
• Tanzanian Blasting Certificate.
• Graduate membership with the Engineers Registration Board (ERB).
