HD Auto Electrician (01 Vacancy)
Position Overview
Bulyanhulu Gold Mine is seeking a qualified and motivated HD Auto Electrician to join its team. The successful candidate will perform skilled automotive electrical work, including installing, repairing, wiring, and maintaining electrical and electronic systems in motor vehicles and heavy mobile equipment.
All tasks will be carried out in accordance with Barrick’s health and safety standards and procedures.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop maintenance and upgrade plans based on shift assignments
- Perform electronic diagnostics on vehicles and mobile equipment
- Conduct preventive maintenance as per schedule
- Repair electrical and electronic faults, including:
- Alarm systems
- Lighting systems
- Locks and windows
- Control units (CPU/control boxes)
- Install and assemble electrical systems such as:
- GPS systems
- Wiring systems
- Radios and sound systems
- Test and verify repair work functionality
- Modify and install specialized automotive electronic components
- Prepare time and cost estimates
- Respond to breakdown calls and perform on-site repairs
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs and repair records
- Maintain workshop equipment and ensure cleanliness
- Safely dispose of hazardous materials
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualification Requirements
- Secondary Education (minimum)
- Technical/Vocational training (FTC, VETA, IMTT Trade Test or equivalent)
- Certificate or Diploma in Auto Electrical Technology
- Valid Tanzanian Driving Licence (mandatory)
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 2 years post-qualification experience in:
- Heavy Mobile Equipment (HME)
- Light vehicle auto-electrical systems
- Experience with underground mechanized mining equipment (automation exposure preferred)
- Strong knowledge of:
- Automotive electrical and mechanical systems
- Diagnostic tools and equipment
Skills and Competencies
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- High attention to detail
- Ability to diagnose complex electrical faults
- Proficiency in reading repair manuals and schematics
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to safely operate tools and equipment
- Knowledge of safety inspections and hazard identification
- Good vision (ability to distinguish colors and symbols)
- Ability to work in confined spaces and physically demanding positions
