Job Purpose

The Head of Hospitality Department (HOD) will provide strategic and operational leadership for all hospitality activities across ATARA hotels and residences.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring world-class guest experiences, operational excellence, revenue growth, and compliance with premium hospitality standards.

Key Responsibilities

The Head of Hospitality Department will:

• Oversee daily hospitality operations, including:
  • Front Office
  • Housekeeping
  • Food and Beverage (F&B)
  • Guest services
• Drive occupancy growth and maximise revenue opportunities from:
  • Hotel rooms
  • Food and beverage services
  • Spa facilities
  • Gym operations
  • Events and other hospitality offerings
• Develop and implement:
  • Quality assurance systems
  • Service standards
  • Operational improvement strategies
• Supervise, train, mentor, and develop hospitality teams.
• Work closely with the General Manager on:
  • Expansion strategies
  • Brand development initiatives
  • Market positioning
• Ensure compliance with:
  • Hospitality regulations
  • Company policies
  • ATARA’s premium service standards

Required Qualifications and Experience

Applicants must have:

• A Bachelor’s Degree in:
  • Commerce in Tourism and Hospitality Management
  • Science in Tourism and Hospitality Management
  • Related field
• Minimum five (5) years of leadership experience in:
  • Hotel management
  • Resort management
  • Hospitality operations
• Strong skills in:
  • Organisation and planning
  • People management
  • Team leadership
• Proven experience achieving:
  • High guest satisfaction
  • Increased occupancy levels
  • Improved operational performance
• Knowledge of the Tanzanian hospitality market is an added advantage.
• Fluency in English.
