Job Summary — Head / Senior Manager, Transaction Banking & Investor Services (TBIS)
This opportunity is with NBC Bank Tanzania, one of Tanzania’s longest-serving commercial banks.
The role focuses on leading the bank’s Transaction Banking & Investor Services (TBIS) franchise, covering:
- Cash management
- Collections and payments
- Liquidity solutions
- Custody and investor services
The position excludes trade finance responsibilities and is heavily focused on fee income growth, operational efficiency, client relationship management, and product innovation for corporate and institutional banking clients.
Core Responsibilities
1. Sales & Service Management (30%)
The successful candidate will:
- Lead growth of:
- Cash management solutions
- Liquidity products
- Custody services
- Strengthen collaboration with:
- Relationship Managers
- Sector Heads
- Oversee:
- Corporate collections
- Payments
- Liquidity pooling
- Account management
- Provide liquidity advisory services to:
- Corporates
- Government institutions

- Drive sales pipelines and revenue growth
- Build and maintain relationships with:

2. Business Management (30%)
Responsibilities include:
- Developing and implementing NBC’s TBIS strategy
- Coordinating with Treasury on:
- Liquidity optimization
- Balance sheet efficiency
- Monitoring:
- Revenue targets
- Budgets
- Product development costs
- Enhancing payment and collection propositions
- Supporting NBC’s positioning as a leading transaction bank
- Managing pricing and service tariffs
- Improving complaint handling and service quality
3. People Management (15%)
The role requires:

- Custodial clients
- Coordinate with:
- CMSA
- DSE
- Bank of Tanzania (BoT)
- Ensure smooth launch and rollout of new products
- Monitor market trends and competitor offerings
5. Risk & Control (5%)
Responsibilities include:
- Maintaining strong:
- Operational risk controls

- KYC compliance
- AML monitoring

Required Qualifications
