Comprehensive Community Based Rehabilitation in Tanzania (CCBRT) is seeking a Health Volunteer – Medical Doctor to support its Clinical Division in providing general medical services, prevention, and early detection of disabilities.

CCBRT is a Tanzanian healthcare social enterprise and development organization specializing in disability and rehabilitation services, while also providing maternal and newborn healthcare. Its Maternity and Newborn Wing serves as a referral centre for high-risk and emergency deliveries in Dar es Salaam and Tanzania’s Eastern Zone.

Key Responsibilities

The Medical Doctor will provide clinical services in both outpatient and inpatient departments, including:

• Conduct scheduled medical clinics.
• Screen and assess patients.
• Admit patients to the ward where necessary.
• Prepare operation lists.
• Update Senior Medical Doctors/Specialists on the conditions of patients due for discharge.
• Perform minor surgical procedures where appropriate.
• Assist senior surgeons during major operations.
• Participate in community outreach activities.
• Participate in shift and on-call duties, including night shifts and weekends.
• Take part in on-the-job learning and professional development.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) from a recognized institution.
• Successful completion of one-year internship.
• Minimum undergraduate GPA of 2.7.
• At least 1 year of post-internship work experience with a reputable organization.
• Registered with the Tanganyika Medical Council as a Medical Doctor.
• Valid 2024 practitioner licence.
• Computer literate.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Swahili.
• Strong teamwork and client-focused approach.
• Proactive attitude and willingness to learn and work in a clinical environment.
