Job Overview
The HR Intern will support the Group HR team primarily in recruitment, selection, and employee engagement, which account for approximately 70% of the role, with the remaining 30% focused on general HR functions.
The role provides an opportunity to gain practical experience in recruitment, employee relations, HR administration, performance management, payroll, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
1. Recruitment, Selection & Employee Engagement
- Source candidates through job boards, social media, and other channels.
- Conduct initial candidate screening.
- Coordinate interviews and communicate with candidates.
- Maintain accurate recruitment records and applicant tracking systems.
- Support the full recruitment cycle from sourcing through onboarding and retention.
- Assist with employee engagement initiatives and company events.
- Support team-building and employee recognition programs.
- Assist in addressing employee concerns and improving morale and retention.
- Conduct exit interviews and analyze employee feedback.
- Support employee retention, career development, mentorship, and growth initiatives.
- Monitor employee satisfaction surveys and recommend improvements.
2. HR Administration
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee records.
- Assist with preparing employment offers, contracts, and other HR documents.
- Support HR projects, wellness activities, engagement programs, and policy updates.
3. Employee Relations
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding HR policies and procedures.
- Assist with resolving employee conflicts and complaints.
- Promote positive employee relations and open communication.
4. Performance Management
- Support goal-setting, performance reviews, and employee development plans.
- Track performance review cycles and send reminders.
- Compile performance-related data.
5. Compliance
- Keep updated on relevant labour laws and regulations.
- Support compliance with applicable employment requirements.
6. Payroll Administration
- Assist with payroll processing and ensure accurate and timely salary payments.
- Maintain payroll records.
- Support compliance with tax and labour regulations.
- Work with Finance to reconcile payroll accounts and resolve discrepancies.
- Prepare payroll reports and support year-end payroll activities.
Education, Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management or a related field.
- Previous experience in HR and Recruitment & Selection is preferred.
- Understanding of recruitment processes, including sourcing, screening, and interviewing.
- Familiarity with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and recruitment software.
- Knowledge of HR policies, procedures, and employment laws.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
