Position: Inventory Operations (Stores/Inventory Supervisor level)

Job Purpose

The role supports the Inventory Manager to ensure optimal stock levels on-site, balancing both financial efficiency and operational effectiveness.


Key Responsibilities

Operations & Team Management

  • Delegate workflow and manage daily store operations
  • Plan, organize, lead, and control activities within the stores
  • Supervise and evaluate team performance using KPIs and EPM tools
  • Ensure clarity in roles and decision-making processes

Inventory Control

  • Manage stock receiving, receipting, and issuing processes
  • Ensure product availability and timely service delivery
  • Monitor inventory levels to minimize stock shortages
  • Oversee planning of incoming loads and required resources (staff, forklifts, etc.)

Supplier & Stock Coordination

  • Liaise with suppliers on defective, excess, or short-delivered goods
  • Support resolution of queries related to goods received (GRN, credits, exchanges)
  • Ensure receipting processes are completed for supplier payments

Compliance & Quality Standards

  • Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures
  • Comply with:
    • SHERQ standards (Safety, Health, Environment, Risk, Quality)
    • Competition Law
    • Anti-Bribery and Corruption (ABC) policies
  • Maintain compliance with FCFQ and audit requirements
  • Ensure proper housekeeping (5S standards) in stores

Service Delivery & Continuous Improvement

  • Resolve operational issues affecting supply and delivery
  • Improve efficiency in inventory processes
  • Maintain high standards of customer support within operations

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in:
    • Procurement
    • Logistics
    • Supply Chain Management

Experience

  • Minimum 3 years in:
    • Procurement
    • Purchasing
    • Supply Chain Management
  • Strong understanding of:
    • Inventory systems
    • Stores management processes
  • Proven experience managing teams

Skills & Competencies
