Job Purpose
To support the delivery of efficient and effective Information Technology (IT) and Telecommunications (TC) services and assist in developing IT solutions that enable staff to effectively deliver food assistance to beneficiaries.
Key Responsibilities
Under the guidance of the Head of the TEC Division, the IT Assistant will:
Technical Support
- Record, classify, and track all TEC support requests and incidents.
- Update tickets with troubleshooting details and escalate unresolved issues.
- Follow up to ensure timely issue resolution and closure.
- Provide first-line technical support to staff.
Hardware & Software Support
- Troubleshoot:
- Computers and laptops
- Printers
- Wi-Fi connectivity
- Microsoft Office 365 applications
- Assist with installation and configuration of TEC equipment.
- Support conference room technology setups, including Microsoft Teams conferencing.
User Support
- Assist in staff onboarding and offboarding processes.
- Prepare TEC equipment for deployment and dispatch to field offices.
Network Support
- Support LAN, Wi-Fi, and VPN-related issues.
- Provide remote technical assistance to WFP offices in:
- Kigoma
- Arusha
- Mtwara
Additional Duties
- Perform other assignments as directed by the supervisor.
Required Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in:
- Information Technology
- Computer Science
- Engineering
- Or another related field
Competencies
Candidates should demonstrate:

Knowledge & Skills
- Basic understanding of:
- Computer hardware
- Networking concepts
- Operating systems
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office 365

- Fluency in English (written and spoken)
