VOLUNTEER JOB VACANCY

1. JOB TITLE: LEGAL OFFICER

2. NUMBER OF POSITIONS: One (1)

3. DUTY STATION: Public Procurement Appeals Authority Dodoma

4. QUALIFICATIONS:

5. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• i. To conduct legal analysis on complaints/appeals registered by the Appeals Authority.
• ii. To conduct legal research on the subject matter of the complaint/appeal in question.
• iii. To prepare a summary of facts on complaints/appeals registered by the Appeals Authority.
• iv. To present the summary of facts and analysis of the case to the Members of the Appeals Authority.
• v. To take down proceedings during hearings.
• vi. To prepare draft decisions on determined appeals.
• vii. To send hearing notifications and summons to parties and witnesses.
• viii. To compile documents necessary for submission to the Court in respect of appeals submitted for judicial review.
• ix. To take charge of documents and correspondence relating to assigned cases.
• x. To represent the Appeals Authority in legal proceedings as may be required.
• xi. To conduct legal research and advise the immediate supervisor.
• xii. To draft prescribed legal documents and forms.
• xiii. To participate in reviewing the Procurement Act and Regulations and propose amendments.
• xiv. To perform any other related duties as may be assigned by the immediate supervisor.

6. EMPLOYMENT TERMS: One year Contract

7. RENUMERATION: According to the Government Volunteers Guideline

8. GENERAL CONDITIONS

• i. Must be a citizen of Tanzania, not older than 35 years;
• ii. Must be the legitimate owner of the academic and professional certificates submitted;
• iii. Applicants who completed their secondary education outside Tanzania must obtain a Results Equivalency Number beginning with the letters “EQ…” from the National Examinations Council of Tanzania (NECTA). In addition, degrees and other academic qualifications obtained outside Tanzania must be recognized or evaluated by the relevant Tanzanian authority TCU or NACTVET as applicable.
• iv. Must have two (02) guarantors who are public servants;
• v. Confirmation letter from Local Government Authority;
• vi. Must never have been convicted in court for criminal or disciplinary offenses;
• vii. Must have good conduct and acceptable behavior in the community;
• viii. Must be willing to volunteer in the respective area.
