About the Role

The Partnership Analyst will lead country-level partnership development, volunteer mobilization, business intelligence, and operational coordination activities to strengthen UNV’s presence and support volunteer deployment across development, humanitarian, and peacebuilding initiatives in Tanzania.

Reporting to the Portfolio Manager/Specialist at the Regional Office, the successful candidate will play a key role in positioning UNV as a strategic partner within the United Nations system and among government, civil society, and private sector stakeholders.


Key Responsibilities

1. Partnership Development & Volunteer Mobilization

  • Build and maintain partnerships with UN agencies, government institutions, civil society organizations, and development partners.
  • Participate in UN planning processes, including:
    • Common Country Assessments (CCA)
    • United Nations Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework (UNSDCF)
    • Humanitarian Response Planning
  • Analyze national development priorities and identify opportunities for volunteer engagement.
  • Develop and implement volunteer mobilization strategies aligned with UNV objectives.
  • Promote volunteerism through outreach campaigns and stakeholder engagement.
  • Prepare presentations, analytical reports, and briefing materials showcasing UNV’s value proposition.
  • Support talent attraction and volunteer pipeline management.

2. Business Intelligence & Strategic Planning

  • Maintain country-level intelligence on UN partner priorities and programme pipelines.
  • Monitor volunteer mobilization trends and key performance indicators.
  • Utilize corporate tools such as:
    • CRM systems
    • Business Intelligence (BI) reports
    • Volunteer management platforms
  • Contribute to the design of innovative volunteer solutions and pilot initiatives.

3. Duty of Care for Volunteers

  • Coordinate with security and host entities to ensure volunteer safety and compliance.
  • Facilitate medical evacuation support when necessary.
  • Maintain regular communication with serving volunteers.
  • Conduct field visits and address volunteer welfare and performance concerns.
  • Support volunteers throughout their assignment lifecycle.

4. Management & Operations

  • Develop and implement annual Field Unit work plans.
  • Manage operational budgets and reporting requirements.
  • Supervise assigned personnel and support their performance and professional development.
  • Promote a collaborative and high-performing team environment.

Qualifications

Education

Required:

  • Master’s degree in:
    • Partnership Management
    • Social Sciences
    • International Development
    • Project Management
    • Public Administration
    • Business Administration
    • Related fields

OR

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field plus two additional years of qualifying experience.

Experience Requirements

With Master’s Degree

  • Minimum 2 years of relevant professional experience.

With Bachelor’s Degree

  • Minimum 4 years of relevant professional experience.

Required Experience

  • Partnerships and stakeholder engagement.
  • Development cooperation or international relations.
  • Programme analysis and research.
  • Inter-agency collaboration.

Desirable Experience

Language Requirements

  • Fluency in English.
  • Fluency in the local language of the duty station.
