People Operations Assistant Officer

Location: Zanzibar (Unguja & Pemba), Tanzania

About the Opportunity

EarthLungs is growing and is looking for a People Operations Assistant to support its team across Zanzibar. The successful candidate will assist with:

• Recruitment
• Employee onboarding
• HR compliance
• Community engagement

This role plays a key part in supporting employees as they restore ecosystems and transform lives.

EarthLungs is seeking an organized, people-focused, and purpose-driven individual.

Work Location: Zanzibar (Unguja & Pemba)

Key Requirements

• Experience in Human Resources, People Operations, or Administration.
• Strong knowledge of Zanzibar labour laws and statutory compliance.
• Experience engaging with government agencies and local communities.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Fluency in English and Swahili.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in:
  • Human Resource Management
  • Business Administration
  • Public Administration
  • Or another related field.
• Experience in the NGO or conservation sector is an added advantage.
