Position Overview

Enza Zaden Tanzania Ltd is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Pollination Supervisor.

The successful candidates will supervise and coordinate pollination and emasculation activities within assigned production areas, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently, accurately, and according to required quality and production standards.

The role also involves supervising assigned teams, supporting crop management activities, identifying production challenges, and ensuring compliance with company quality, hygiene, health and safety, and farm protocols.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate pollination and emasculation activities within assigned production areas.
  • Ensure pollination activities are completed efficiently and meet required quality standards.
  • Guide and coordinate assigned teams in daily production activities.
  • Allocate workforce effectively and ensure productivity, teamwork, and adherence to work standards.
  • Monitor crop and pollination activities and report quality or production concerns to management.
  • Support crop management and maintenance activities throughout the production cycle.
  • Plan and coordinate daily work activities based on production requirements.
  • Ensure effective utilization of labour and operational resources.
  • Maintain communication with Assistant Pollination Managers and relevant teams regarding progress, challenges, and resource requirements.

Qualifications and Skills

Applicants should possess:

  • Diploma in Horticulture, Agronomy, Crop Production, Plant Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2–3 years of relevant experience in seed production, pollination, emasculation, horticulture, greenhouse production, crop production, or a related agricultural environment.
  • Good understanding of agricultural production practices, crop management, pollination activities, and quality requirements in controlled production environments.
  • Ability to supervise and coordinate teams, organize daily activities, allocate work, and maintain productivity standards.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in English and Swahili languages.
  • Ability to work effectively with employees and different production teams.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to maintain operational records and reports.
