About TANROADS
The Tanzania National Roads Agency (TANROADS) is vested with the responsibility of maintaining and developing the Trunk and Regional Roads Network in Tanzania Mainland. The Agency is also responsible for conducting Axle Load Control Operations using weighbridge scales.
The Regional Manager, TANROADS Dodoma, on behalf of the Chief Executive of TANROADS, is seeking qualified and competent Tanzanians to fill vacant positions under the above-mentioned road project.
The recruitment is intended to strengthen the capacity of the TANROADS Dodoma Regional Office to effectively discharge its functions on the project.

Entry Qualifications
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in one of the following fields:
- Civil Engineering
- Highway Engineering
- Transportation Engineering
- Equivalent qualifications from a recognized institution.
- Must have at least ten (10) years of working experience in a related field.
- Must have experience on two (2) projects of the same nature as a Resident Engineer.
- Must be registered by the Engineers Registration Board (ERB) as a Professional Engineer.
- A Master’s Degree will be an added advantage.
Duties and Responsibilities
The Principal Engineer II (Resident Engineer) will be responsible for:
- Leading site staff and overseeing all technical and administrative aspects of the site.
- Supervising the Contractor at the site and overseeing force account operations.
- Preparing work plans for the project.
- Managing quality control.
- Managing project contracts.
- Preparing progress reports for contracts.
- Processing Contractor invoices and facilitating payments.
- Attending regular site meetings and preparing minutes.
- Monitoring the implementation of Social and Environmental Impact mitigation measures during construction works, in consultation with the TANROADS Environmental Specialist.
- Keeping all records updated, including:
- Reports
- Works diaries
- Correspondence
- Instructions given to Contractor(s)
- Test records
- Measurement and quantity calculations
- Payment records
- All other relevant documents relating to works operations and supervision contracts.
- Performing any other related duties as may be assigned by the Project Manager (PM).

Terms of Employment
Specified contract for one (1) year or more, upon completion of the project.
Salary
Salary will be paid according to the TANROADS Salary Scale and TANROADS Policy.
Successful applicants must be prepared to work for considerable periods in Dodoma Region, where the project is located.
