Job Summary

WSHA is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Program Intern to support programme monitoring, data collection, reporting, and documentation activities. The intern will work closely with the Program Manager and programme teams while gaining practical experience in programme management, monitoring and evaluation (M&E), and the startup ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

Participant Data Collection

  • Engage directly with programme participants through:
    • Phone calls
    • Surveys
    • Interviews
    • Field visits
  • Collect programme monitoring data, including:
    • Attendance records
    • Participation tracking
    • Baseline assessments
    • Endline assessments
    • Pre- and post-training evaluations

Data Management & Reporting

  • Compile, clean, and organize programme data.
  • Monitor programme indicators against targets.
  • Prepare data inputs for:
    • Internal reports
    • Quarterly reports
    • Annual reports
    • Donor reports
  • Assist in creating simple dashboards and data visualizations.

Data Entry & Quality Assurance

  • Enter programme data accurately into WSHA information systems.
  • Maintain complete, organized, and up-to-date records.
  • Perform routine data quality checks to ensure accuracy, consistency, and reliability.

Documentation & Knowledge Management

  • Document:
    • Success stories
    • Lessons learned
    • Best practices
  • Maintain programme documentation and historical impact records.

General Programme Support

  • Support day-to-day programme implementation.
  • Coordinate with implementing partners on reporting requirements.
  • Assist with logistics for monitoring visits and data collection activities.

Qualifications

Applicants should have:

  • A recent bachelor’s degree in:
    • Business
    • Project Management
    • Information Technology (IT)
    • Or a related field.

Experience & Skills

  • Strong interest in:
    • Data management
    • Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E)
    • Programme support
  • Previous coursework or volunteer experience in M&E or data entry is an advantage but not required.
  • Basic proficiency in:
    • Microsoft Excel
    • AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude)
  • Familiarity with Airtable or Google Sheets is an added advantage.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Confidence interacting with programme participants.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Willingness to learn and work collaboratively.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Comfortable travelling to programme sites when required.
