About the Role
The Quality, Safety, Health & Environment (QSHE) Manager will lead the Quality team to ensure that raw materials received and products manufactured consistently meet company and regulatory standards. The role is responsible for maintaining Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Good Hygiene Practices (GHPs), and implementing robust Quality Management Systems (QMS) to drive compliance and continuous improvement.
The successful candidate will develop, review, and align quality procedures with Kerry’s Global Quality Management System (GQMS), ensuring best practices, effective auditing, and the prevention of non-conformances.
Key Responsibilities
Quality & Food Safety Leadership
- Champion a “Safety First, Quality Always” culture across the manufacturing site.
- Promote safety, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Lead, coach, mentor, and develop a high-performing Quality team through recruitment, training, and performance management.
Quality Management Systems
- Ensure full compliance with:
- HACCP
- GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices)
- GHPs (Good Hygiene Practices)
- SSOPs (Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures)
- Allergen Management Programs
- Sanitation Programs
- Maintain compliance with customer, regulatory, and industry food safety standards.
- Develop, review, and continuously improve procedures aligned with Kerry’s Global Quality Management System (GQMS).
Product Quality Assurance
- Oversee inspection and quality control processes for incoming raw materials and finished products.
- Ensure products consistently meet established quality specifications.
- Monitor quality trends and implement preventive measures.
Customer Quality & Compliance
- Lead customer complaint investigations and ensure timely, effective resolution.
- Conduct comprehensive Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
- Drive Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) to eliminate recurring issues related to:
- Customer complaints
- Audit findings
- Non-conformances
- Process deviations
Continuous Improvement
- Analyze quality data and trends to identify improvement opportunities.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives through cross-functional collaboration.
- Apply statistical process control (SPC) and other quality improvement methodologies where appropriate.
Training & Internal Audits
- Develop and manage quality training programs for plant personnel.
- Conduct regular training on:
- GMP principles
- Quality Management Systems (QMS)
- Food Safety Management Systems (FSMS)
- Perform internal audits and provide feedback on compliance with quality systems and procedures.
- Support Management Reviews and quality performance reporting.
Qualifications & Skills
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, or a related field.
Experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Food Quality and Food Safety.
- Experience within a multinational food, ingredients, or pharmaceutical company is highly desirable.
Professional Certifications
Certification in the following areas will be an added advantage:
- FSSC 22000
- HACCP
- Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)
- Good Hygiene Practices (GHPs)
- Lead Auditor Certification
Technical Competencies
- Strong understanding of Food Safety Management Systems (FSMS).
- Knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC).
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies is an added advantage.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and team development abilities.
