dnata Zanzibar is seeking enthusiastic and customer-oriented team members to join its Ramp team on a fixed-term contract basis.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidates will be responsible for the following:

Ramp, Cargo and Aircraft Operations

• Ensure safety checks of pallet stops are carried out before handling ULDs and dollies in and around cargo breakdown areas and warehouses.
• Safely and correctly load, offload, and segregate dead-load according to applicable standards and customer requirements.
• Assist breakdown staff with the loading and offloading of cargo and mail from vehicles and ULDs.
• Handle ULDs and follow appropriate breakdown and build-up procedures and associated safety regulations.
• Optimize space by stacking loads in an orderly and safe manner in build-up areas and bulk holds.
• Ensure restraints are adequate and comply with applicable authority standards and regulations.
• Where applicable, identify the suitable tow bar and assist with pushback and towing operations.
• Ensure aircraft structures are clear of obstructions to prevent ground collisions involving aircraft, vehicles, equipment, facilities, or structures.

Cleaning and Hygiene

• Carry out various interior and exterior cleaning activities using appropriate materials to maintain high standards of hygiene and appearance in accordance with the requirements of operating airlines.
• Carry out transit, turnaround, and stay-over cleaning using appropriate chemicals and materials to maintain airport terminal and ramp hygiene and safety standards.
• Perform special services including:
  • Deep cleaning
  • Check activities
  • Carpet shampooing
  • Toilet tank cleaning
  • Fumigation
  • External washing
• Clean oil spills on the ramp and assigned areas to maintain cleanliness.
• Disinfect aircraft cargo holds on the ramp after confirming the presence of live animals, in accordance with airline requirements.
• Complete lavatory and water servicing while strictly following all hygiene protocols.

Safety, Security and Compliance

• Ensure that all safety and security procedures are complied with while performing assigned duties.
• Report hazards, injuries, ill-health, and near misses to the supervisor or employer.
• Cooperate with the employer on workplace health and safety requirements.
• Take responsibility for individual safety and security issues.
• Perform directed health and safety activities and checks.
• Comply strictly with company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Work Instructions, Airport Authority Standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.
• Maintain responsibility for health and safety duties of care in the workplace.

Minimum Requirements

• Strong English language skills.
• A valid driving licence is an advantage.
• Applicants must be Tanzanian Nationals.
