Job Summary

Qatar Airways is seeking a Reservations and Ticketing Agent based in Dar es Salaam to provide professional reservation and ticketing services to customers and travel partners.

The successful candidate will support passengers through telephone and in-person interactions, manage flight reservations, issue tickets, provide travel solutions, and contribute to customer satisfaction while supporting revenue targets.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Making and confirming passenger reservations.
• Arranging flight reservations and travel routes using:
  • Airline timetables
  • Airline manuals
  • Reference guides
• Issuing tickets with accurate fares to minimize passenger complaints and debit notes.
• Advising customers on:
  • Flight changes
  • Reservation confirmations
  • Cancellations
  • Alternative travel options
• Informing load control teams and other stations about passenger itinerary changes to optimize seat utilization.
• Ensuring sales reports are completed and closed on time.
• Promoting Qatar Airways products and services to generate revenue.
• Recording and processing reservations received through:
  • Telephone
  • Fax
  • Email
• Handling customer help desk duties and assisting travel agents with:
  • Seat confirmations
  • Upgrades
  • Downgrades
• Processing ticket refunds and handling:
  • Lost tickets
  • Time-barred tickets
• Reviewing passenger tickets and providing correct travel guidance.
• Planning routes and calculating ticket costs using schedules, fare systems, and computer applications.
• Contacting customers or travel agents regarding:
  • Travel changes
  • Reservation confirmations
  • Available alternatives
• Selling and preparing tickets for delivery or mailing to customers.
• Responding to inquiries from travel agencies and transportation companies.

Qualifications and Requirements

Successful candidates should have:

• Relevant work experience in the aviation or travel industry.
• Knowledge of airline reservations and ticketing procedures.
• IATA certification or Airline Basic Tariff Course qualification is an added advantage.
• Strong knowledge of:
  • Special fares
  • Promotional offers
  • Airline products
• Excellent English communication skills (written and spoken).
• Legal authorization to live and work in Tanzania.
