About the Role
Planet Lodges & Lairs Camps is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Sales Executive to drive revenue growth by building strong relationships within the tourism and travel sector, particularly with domestic tour operators.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Business Development
- Identify, approach, and build relationships with domestic tour operators, travel advisors, and corporate clients
- Convert leads into confirmed bookings through proactive follow-up and relationship management
- Meet and exceed individual sales targets aligned with company revenue goals
Client Engagement & Representation
- Represent Planet Lodges & Lairs Camps at trade events, fam trips, and client meetings
- Communicate property value propositions effectively to different client segments
- Develop and maintain strong, long-term client relationships
Product Knowledge & Coordination
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of all properties, including rates, availability, and experiences
- Provide accurate and timely proposals and responses to client inquiries
- Coordinate with reservations and operations teams to ensure seamless guest experience
Reporting & Strategy
- Maintain an up-to-date sales pipeline and client database
- Work closely with the Business Development Manager on strategy and targets
- Share market insights and client feedback to guide pricing and product improvements
Required Qualifications
Experience
- 4–6 years of sales experience in Tanzania’s tourism, safari, or hospitality sector
- Proven track record of achieving sales targets and closing deals
- Experience selling premium or high-end safari/lodge products (preferred)
Skills & Competencies
- Strong understanding of Tanzania’s safari and travel trade landscape
- Excellent relationship-building and negotiation skills
- Fluent in Swahili and English (written and spoken – mandatory)
- Self-motivated, well-organized, and target-driven
Technical Requirements
- Familiarity with reservations or CRM systems (especially ResRequest)
- Ability to manage multiple clients and sales processes simultaneously
Other Requirements
- Based in or willing to relocate to Arusha
- Existing relationships with domestic tour operators or travel advisors (advantageous)
