Job Purpose
The Senior Relationship Manager will manage a portfolio of Local Large Corporate (LLC) and Regional Corporate (RC) banking customers, driving business performance and profitability within the Corporate Banking segment.
The role involves developing and maintaining long-term relationships with large corporate clients, identifying new business opportunities, increasing customer wallet share, managing credit and reputational risk, and providing leadership and coaching to members of the Corporate Banking team.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Customer Service – 40%
- Grow portfolio profitability by identifying opportunities among new and existing customers.
- Promote appropriate banking products and services.
- Develop business development strategies aligned with changing market needs.
- Monitor customer service quality and complaints.
- Research competitive threats and opportunities within the corporate market.
- Communicate key information to customers, including service standards, pricing, relationship contacts, and product changes.
- Conduct annual and interim reviews of borrowing facilities.
- Review non-borrowing customers.
- Identify and sell products that effectively meet corporate customers’ needs.
- Build long-term relationships with senior corporate executives.
Business Management – 30%
- Manage portfolio performance against financial, risk-adjusted contribution, sales, service, and operational targets.
- Manage implementation of business and portfolio-related changes.
- Advise customer managers on financial, credit, and business matters.
- Develop Customer Relationship Plans.
- Work closely with the Head – Large Corporate to drive business performance.
- Identify and pursue potential new business opportunities.
- Identify priority customers and assess their current and potential contribution.
- Maintain portfolio quality and ensure compliance with risk management policies.
- Act on behalf of the Head – Large Corporate when required.
Staff Management & Leadership – 30%
- Contribute to the overall performance of the Corporate Banking team.
- Coach and mentor relationship managers and other corporate banking team members.
- Help team members identify their strengths, weaknesses, and development needs.
- Support training and professional development initiatives.
- Coach team members on relationship management, service quality, and risk management.
- Participate in performance reviews and development planning.
- Help lead RMs and CMAs using a team-based management approach.
