Sharia and Products Manager Job Vacancy – Amana Bank
Amana Bank is seeking a qualified and dynamic Sharia and Products Manager to join their Headquarters team.
Duties & Responsibilities

Policy & Manual Review: Assist the Head of Sharia & Products to review policies and manuals annually.

Contract & Paper Preparation: Assist in preparing and reviewing financing contract packages, forms, product papers, Sharia Supervisory Board (SSB) papers, and Board papers in a timely manner.

Profit Distribution: Ensure profit is fairly distributed to depositors according to the Profit Distribution Model (PDM).

Sharia Research & Guidance: Perform research on Sharia aspects for products, fatwas, or related issues prior to SSB presentation; offer guidance to staff and clients on Islamic banking/financing instruments.

Product Development & Performance: Assist in developing new products, enhancing existing ones, conducting product performance assessments, and preparing quarterly performance reports.

Market Analysis: Analyze available Islamic products and services in the market to identify leverage opportunities for the bank.

Staff Training: Prepare training materials and deliver training to ensure business and financing teams understand product documentation, pricing dynamics, and processing requirements.

Standards Compliance: Keep the bank up to date with new Sharia decisions/requirements issued by SSB and international bodies (e.g., AAOIFI, OIC Fiqh Academy, IFSB).

Departmental Support: Review marketing/promotional content for Sharia alignment; support financing management and branches to ensure facilities strictly comply with product manuals and Sharia principles.

Inventory Tracking: Follow up to ensure inventories are sold timely before customer use or sale.

Fund Administration: Administer Charity and Zakat Fund activities.

Representation: Represent the bank at internal and external events, media programs, and customer meetings.

Proven ability to train and coach on Islamic banking and finance topics.

Strong paper-writing, reporting, persuasion, and presentation skills.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Product knowledge and an innovation mindset within Islamic banking.

Deep understanding of Islamic Banking within the Tanzanian context.
Qualifications & Experience
-
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Islamic Banking and Finance, OR a Degree in Banking/Finance/Commerce with an additional Certification or Diploma in Islamic Banking and Finance.

Professional Advantage: Professional qualifications in Islamic Banking, Sharia (Jurisprudence), or Islamic Studies will be an added advantage.
