Job Purpose
The System Admin: M-PESA Applications Support will be responsible for the end-to-end operational support of the M-PESA core platform and its associated digital channels.
The role involves monitoring application performance, resolving user issues, coordinating with development teams, maintaining system security and ensuring a seamless mobile money experience for end users.
Key Responsibilities
System Management and M-PESA Support
- Perform system management for the M-PESA Core platform.
- Monitor the performance and availability of the M-PESA mobile application on Android and iOS platforms.
- Respond to and resolve user-reported issues, application crashes and bugs in a timely manner.
- Track application analytics and crash reports using tools such as Firebase or similar platforms.
- Perform and maintain system incident, problem and change management processes with internal and external M-Pesa Africa (MPA) stakeholders.
- Maintain system security and ensure appropriate security practices are implemented.
- Support Business Continuity Management activities.
- Support Mini App development, implementation and operations.
- Support all M-PESA-related projects, including MPA and local projects.
- Provide M-PESA product support.
Qualifications and Experience
Core Competencies, Knowledge and Experience
Candidates should have knowledge and experience in the following areas:
- Operating systems, including Unix, Linux (RHEL and SUSE) and Windows.
- Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS), including Oracle, GaussDB and MySQL.
- Mobile security best practices.
- Android and iOS platforms.
- Mobile application architecture and APIs.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders.
- Understanding of mobile money platforms, particularly M-PESA, is highly desirable.
Academic Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or an equivalent qualification.
