Job Summary
The Talent & Development Partner supports NBC’s strategic objectives by ensuring employees receive appropriate learning, training, talent-management, and leadership-development interventions.
The role focuses on identifying employee capability gaps, designing and delivering learning programs, managing training providers and budgets, supporting talent initiatives, and measuring the impact of learning activities on business performance.
Key Responsibilities
1. Leadership & Talent Management
- Work with HR Learning & Development partners and business leaders to deliver training initiatives aligned with the business strategy.
- Identify staff training and development needs through performance development and talent-management processes.
- Build relationships with external training providers and manage trainers.
- Partner with HR Business Partners, People Managers, and Department Heads to understand business objectives.
- Prepare learning and talent-management reports.
- Track progress against learning targets.
- Support the Head of Talent in implementing the Talent Management Framework.
- Support leadership-development programs.
- Generate reports from e-learning platforms.
- Participate in job fairs and educational events.
- Maintain relationships with educational institutions.
- Help business units identify competency and performance gaps.
- Contribute to the Annual Training Plan and ensure it aligns with business needs and the approved budget.
2. Training Programme Design & Development
- Design, develop, or source learning solutions based on identified training needs.
- Develop customized learning and development interventions with Business Subject Matter Experts.
- Research available training programs and providers.
- Maintain relationships with Group Learning, Learning & Talent (LLT) teams and local training providers.
- Develop in-house training materials, including:
- Training manuals
- Training aids
- Other learning resources
- Utilize Group learning programs to meet NBC’s training requirements.
3. Training & Talent Programme Delivery
- Deliver training programs together with Business Subject Matter Experts.
- Support the Head of Talent in developing and delivering talent programs.
- Coordinate with Talent and Strategic Sourcing teams when engaging external training providers.
- Support employees using digital learning platforms such as:
- TLS
- Group Digital Campus
- Group Learning Portal
- Ensure compliance with learning policies, governance, standards, and internal controls.
- Establish evaluation criteria for learning programs.
- Monitor and evaluate the impact of training.
- Identify problem areas and recommend appropriate solutions.
- Monitor the consistency and effectiveness of learning policies and processes.
4. Administration & Reporting
- Maintain training materials and attendance records.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and ad-hoc training reports.
- Monitor training budgets and expenditure.
- Reconcile training accounts.
- Ensure cost-effective use of training resources.
- Process payments related to training activities for staff and vendors.
- Coordinate:
- Training venues
- Invitations
- Accommodation
- Travel
- Printing and training materials
- Liaise with the internal travel agent for domestic and international travel arrangements.
- Handle general office administration, including stationery and refreshments.
- Support digital learning platforms.
- Ensure the Learning & Talent unit has adequate administrative support.
- Ensure vendor documentation is properly completed for onboarding and payment processing.
Education & Experience
Required Education
Applicants should have:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent/relevant professional qualification in:
- Banking
- Human Resources
- Education
- Business Administration
Required Experience
- 4+ years of experience in:
- Banking
- Training
- Human Resources
- Related environments
Experience in a similar environment at junior specialist level is also indicated among the qualifications.
