Tax Manager

Position Overview

BMG Group International Limited is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Tax Manager to lead and coordinate all tax-related matters across the Group and its affiliates.

The role is responsible for ensuring full compliance with Tanzanian tax laws, managing tax risks, and providing strategic tax guidance to support business growth and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

1. Tax Compliance

• Oversee direct and indirect tax compliance, including timely filing of:
  • VAT
  • Corporate Income Tax
  • PAYE
  • Withholding Tax (WHT)
  • Skills Development Levy (SDL)
  • Workers Compensation Fund (WCF)
  • Provisional tax

2. Audit & Regulatory Management

• Manage engagements with the Tanzania Revenue Authority including:
  • Tax audits
  • VAT verifications
  • Income tax examinations
• Respond to tax assessments, objections, and regulatory queries

3. Strategy & Governance

• Develop and implement the Group’s tax strategy
• Establish and maintain internal tax controls
• Oversee transfer pricing policies and intercompany documentation

4. Advisory & Reporting

• Provide tax advisory support on contracts, transactions, and investments
• Support financial reporting, including:
  • Tax provisioning
  • Disclosures
• Monitor changes in tax legislation and ensure compliance

5. Process Improvement

• Promote automation and standardization of tax processes and systems
• Provide tax training and capacity building to finance teams

Qualifications & Requirements

Education & Professional Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in:
  • Accounting
  • Finance
  • Tax
  • Commerce or related field
• Professional certification (added advantage):
  • CPA
  • ACCA
  • CIMA or equivalent

---

Experience & Knowledge

• Minimum 5–7 years of relevant tax experience
• Prior experience in a Tax Manager role is an added advantage
• Strong knowledge of:
  • Tanzanian tax laws
  • Tanzania Revenue Authority procedures
  • Tax audits and reconciliations
