Role Objective
The Technical Analyst – Preventative Maintenance is responsible for designing and managing a preventative maintenance system to ensure:
- Reduced equipment downtime
- Improved operational efficiency
- Extended lifespan of farm and production equipment
- Reliable agricultural production systems
Key Responsibilities
1. Preventative Maintenance Strategy
- Develop and implement a structured preventative maintenance program
- Ensure minimal equipment breakdowns and downtime
- Optimize farm and production equipment reliability
2. Technical Analysis and Reporting
- Conduct performance analysis of machinery and equipment
- Identify trends, failures, and improvement opportunities
- Prepare technical reports and performance documentation
- Provide actionable recommendations based on data
3. Team Leadership and Supervision
- Lead, train, and supervise maintenance teams
- Ensure adherence to safety standards and farm protocols
- Promote discipline, efficiency, and technical competence within the team
4. Inventory and Spare Parts Management
- Monitor spare parts stock levels
- Ensure timely procurement and replenishment of critical components
- Coordinate with procurement and technical teams
5. Health, Safety and Compliance
- Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety standards
- Enforce safe maintenance practices and procedures
- Maintain alignment with statutory and company regulations
6. Environmental and Operational Support
- Support the Technical Manager in environmental management of farm operations
- Contribute to sustainable and efficient farm practices
- Ensure equipment usage aligns with environmental standards
Qualifications and Experience
Required Education
- Bachelor’s degree in:
- Mechanical Engineering
- Electrical Engineering
- or related technical field
Experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience in equipment maintenance
- Strong focus on:
- Preventative maintenance
- Predictive maintenance systems
- Industrial or agricultural equipment maintenance
Required Skills and Competencies
- Strong technical understanding of farm and industrial equipment
- Knowledge of irrigation and climate control systems
- Mechanical and electrical systems expertise
- Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
- Ability to interpret technical data and generate reports
- Leadership and team supervision skills
