To support its growing operations, the company is seeking a qualified and experienced Transport Manager to oversee and optimize transport activities while ensuring compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and company policies.

Position Summary

The Transport Manager will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising all transportation operations within the organization. The role involves managing vehicle fleets, transport personnel, operational schedules, safety programs, budgets, and regulatory compliance to ensure efficient and cost-effective service delivery.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

Transport Operations Management

• Develop and implement transport strategies, policies, and operational procedures.
• Manage daily transportation activities and ensure optimal fleet utilization.
• Plan and coordinate transport schedules to maximize efficiency and service delivery.
• Optimize routes to improve operational performance and reduce costs.

Fleet Management

• Monitor vehicle maintenance schedules, inspections, servicing, and licensing requirements.
• Ensure fleet availability, reliability, and compliance with roadworthiness standards.
• Oversee fuel consumption management and implement cost-control measures.

Staff Supervision and Leadership

• Supervise, guide, and support drivers and transport personnel.
• Conduct driver performance evaluations and recommend training and development programs.
• Promote teamwork, discipline, and adherence to company standards.

Compliance and Safety

• Ensure compliance with transport regulations, road safety requirements, labor laws, and environmental standards.
• Investigate transport incidents, accidents, and customer complaints and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure adherence to company health, safety, security, and risk management policies.
• Maintain compliance with confidentiality, anti-corruption, and workplace conduct requirements.

Budget and Reporting

• Manage transport budgets and monitor operational expenditures.
• Prepare transport performance reports, records, and operational documentation.
• Analyze transportation data and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

Stakeholder Coordination

• Coordinate with internal departments, suppliers, regulatory authorities, and external stakeholders.
• Support organizational objectives through effective communication and collaboration.

Minimum Qualifications

Applicants must possess:

• Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Transport Management, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Professional certification in Transport Management, Logistics, Fleet Management, or a related discipline will be an added advantage.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in transport, logistics, or fleet management.
• At least two (2) years of experience in a supervisory or managerial position.
