1. Service Man – Dewatering

Position Overview
The Service Man – Dewatering will support pit dewatering activities by assisting in:
- Installation and maintenance of pumps
- Pipeline operations
- Equipment servicing
- Water management systems
The role is critical for maintaining continuous mining production and safe pit operations.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Dewatering Operations
- Assist in installation, relocation, and maintenance of pumps and pipelines.
- Monitor pit water levels and pump performance.
- Inspect hoses, valves, generators, and pump systems.
- Report mechanical faults and operational issues immediately.
- Support fueling, lubrication, and servicing of equipment.
- Maintain proper pit drainage systems.
- Support continuous pumping during rainy and production periods.
Safety & Compliance
- Follow Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) procedures.
- Wear proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Maintain safe and clean work environments.
- Participate in toolbox talks, safety meetings, and training sessions.
Record Keeping & Teamwork
- Maintain daily operational records.
- Collaborate with operators, mechanics, and mining teams.
- Perform additional duties assigned by management.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education
- Minimum qualification: Form Four Certificate (O-Level).
- Technical certification in:
- Mechanical Engineering
- Pump Operations
- Mining Operations
- Heavy Equipment Maintenance
- Related field
is an added advantage.
Experience
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in:
- Mining operations
- Dewatering operations
- Pump servicing
- Related technical field
- Open pit mining experience is an added advantage.
Skills & Competencies
- Basic knowledge of:
- Pumps
- Generators
- Pipelines
- Water management systems
- Ability to work under pressure in remote mining environments
- Good teamwork and communication skills
- Physical fitness for manual duties
- Ability to follow safety procedures
- Fluency in Kiswahili; basic English is an advantage
Working Conditions
- Field-based work within open pit mining operations
- Shift work, including night shifts and extended hours
- Exposure to:
- Dust

Position Overview
The Dewatering Supervisor will oversee and coordinate all dewatering operations within open pit mining activities.
The role includes:
- Supervising dewatering personnel
- Managing pumps and drainage systems
- Monitoring water levels
- Ensuring operational efficiency and safety compliance
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Dewatering Operations Management
- Supervise daily pit dewatering activities.
- Coordinate installation, relocation, and maintenance of:
- Pumps
- Pipelines
- Hoses
- Generators
- Monitor pit water levels and drainage operations.
- Minimize equipment downtime.
- Plan manpower and equipment allocation.
- Conduct inspections of pumps and electrical systems.
- Coordinate preventive maintenance schedules.
- Respond to breakdowns and flooding emergencies.
Supervision & Team Leadership
- Supervise Dewatering Service Men and operators.
- Provide technical guidance and training.
- Conduct toolbox meetings and safety briefings.
- Monitor discipline, productivity, and attendance.
- Prepare shift schedules.
Safety & Environmental Compliance
- Enforce Health, Safety, and Environmental procedures.
- Ensure PPE usage and safe work conditions.
- Ensure environmental compliance regarding water discharge systems.
- Report incidents and unsafe conditions immediately.
Reporting & Administration
- Maintain operational and maintenance reports.
- Prepare performance reports for management.
- Monitor equipment utilization and efficiency.
- Coordinate with mining and maintenance departments.
- Support achievement of production targets.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education
- Minimum qualification: Form Four Certificate (O-Level).
- Certificate, Diploma, or Advanced Certificate in:
- Mechanical Engineering
- Mining Engineering
- Pump Operations
- Heavy Equipment Maintenance
- Related technical field
is highly preferred.
Experience
- Minimum 3 years of experience in:
- Dewatering operations
- Mining operations
- Pump management
- At least 1 year in a supervisory role is an added advantage.
- Open pit mining experience is highly preferred.
