Job Purpose
The successful candidate will be responsible for procuring agricultural commodities and driving sales, while managing supplier relationships, commodity movements, market intelligence and commercial opportunities across Tanzania and regional African markets.
Key Responsibilities
Procurement & Supplier Management
- Source and procure:
- Pulses
- Oilseeds
- Raw cashew nuts
- Work with farmers, cooperatives, aggregators and commodity traders.
- Build and maintain a reliable supplier network.
- Monitor commodity prices and market trends.
- Manage procurement activities through the TMX platform.
Supply Chain & Warehouse Coordination
- Coordinate with warehouse, quality-control and logistics teams.
- Monitor commodity movement, storage and handling.
- Track:
- Stock levels
- Warehouse receipts
- Transportation
- Related procurement and logistics costs
Sales & Business Development
- Drive sales of soybean meal in Tanzania and neighbouring markets.
- Identify and develop new customers.
- Expand market opportunities across Eastern, Central and Southern Africa.
- Negotiate commercial terms and ensure timely customer deliveries.
- Achieve agreed procurement and sales targets.
Market Intelligence
- Monitor supply and demand conditions.
- Track competitors and market developments.
- Analyse trends in:
- Poultry
- Livestock
- Dairy
- Animal-feed sectors
Minimum Qualifications & Experience
Candidates should have:
- At least 5 years’ experience in agricultural commodity procurement, trading or operations.
- Experience in Tanzania’s pulses, oilseed and/or cashew markets is highly desirable.
- Established relationships with farmers, aggregators, cooperatives or commodity traders are an advantage.
- Good understanding of agricultural commodity quality standards.
- Strong knowledge of agricultural supply chains.
- Working knowledge of the TMX platform and commodity procurement processes.
- Knowledge of warehousing, logistics and transportation.

Ideal Candidate Profile
The strongest candidate will be someone with hands-on Tanzanian agricultural commodities experience, particularly in pulses, oilseeds or cashew nuts, combined with commercial sales capability.
Experience dealing directly with farmers, cooperatives, aggregators and commodity traders would significantly strengthen an application.
