Background of the Organization
Zambia Cargo and Logistics Limited (ZCL) is a regional logistics service provider wholly owned by the Government of the Republic of Zambia (GRZ) through the Industrial Development Corporation (IDC).
The company operates:
- Terminals in Dar es Salaam and Walvis Bay
- An operating centre in Ndola
ZCL is inviting applications from suitably qualified Tanzanians to fill the following vacant position:
Commercial & Corporate Affairs Officer – 1 Post
(A) Required Qualifications
Applicants must possess:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field
- 2–4 years of experience in marketing, preferably within the logistics or transportation industry
- Experience in digital marketing, content creation, and campaign management will be an added advantage
(B) Required Attributes
Successful candidates should demonstrate:
- Strong understanding of marketing principles, digital marketing, and social media management
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in marketing software, CRM systems, and Microsoft Office Suite
- Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities
(C) Duties and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
Marketing & Campaign Management
- Assisting in the development and execution of marketing campaigns across digital, print, and social media platforms
- Coordinating with external agencies and vendors to ensure timely delivery of marketing materials
- Monitoring and reporting campaign performance and recommending improvements
Content Development
- Creating and managing content for:
- Brochures
- Newsletters
- Websites
- Social media platforms
- Ensuring all content aligns with company branding and messaging
- Collaborating with the design team to create visually appealing marketing materials
Market Research & Analysis
- Conducting market research to identify customer needs, preferences, and trends
- Analyzing competitor activities and market conditions
- Supporting development of marketing plans through data gathering and interpretation
Digital Marketing & Social Media
- Managing social media profiles and online presence
- Assisting with email marketing campaigns, list management, and performance tracking
- Optimizing digital marketing through SEO, SEM, and related techniques
Events & Customer Engagement
- Assisting in planning and execution of:
- Corporate events
- Trade shows
- Promotional activities
- Coordinating vendors, venues, and event logistics
- Supporting customer engagement initiatives and loyalty programs
- Responding to customer inquiries and feedback
Reporting & Administration
- Preparing reports on:
- Marketing activities
- Campaign performance
- Market research findings
- Customer feedback
- Utilizing marketing analytics tools to evaluate effectiveness
- Assisting in budget preparation and administrative tasks
- Managing marketing-related documentation
