Job Summary
Bagamoyo Sugar Limited is seeking a qualified and motivated Land Surveyor to support surveying activities related to engineering, irrigation, civil works, and agricultural development projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for field data collection, mapping, survey accuracy, equipment maintenance, and reporting.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct field data collection, monitoring, mapping, and record keeping.
- Prepare reports based on collected survey data.
- Ensure high-quality data collection and adherence to quality control procedures.
- Review and verify survey data for accuracy and completeness.
- Prepare contour maps and assess earthwork quantities.
- Ensure all surveys meet or exceed the minimum accuracy standards outlined in the Survey Code of Practice.
- Monitor and maintain survey equipment in good working condition.
- Carry out routine equipment inspections and permissible adjustments.
- Track equipment performance and coordinate specialized maintenance when required.
- Perform any other duties assigned by management.
Qualifications and Skills Required
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in:
- Geomatics
- Surveying
- Or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
Experience
- Minimum 1–2 years of relevant work experience in:
- Engineering operations
- Road construction projects
- Canal construction
- Pipeline construction
Technical Competencies
- Proficiency in the use of:
- TS16 Total Station
- Dumpy Level
- Strong knowledge of:
- ESRI ArcGIS
- Civil 3D
- Earthwork software
- Experience in irrigation and civil engineering projects will be an added advantage.
