Fastlink Agri-Business is recruiting for three roles within its milling operations in Kigoma, Tanzania. The vacancies cover forklift operations, food-processing quality control, and milling machine operations, with a total of six positions available.

1. Forklift Operator – 2 Positions

Work Station: Kigoma
Number of Positions: 2
Requirement: Valid forklift operating licence and relevant experience

Role Overview

The Forklift Operator will support the safe movement of goods, grains, and other materials around the milling site, including loading, offloading, and stock-handling activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate the forklift safely when moving goods, grains, and materials around the site.
  • Load and offload trucks and arrange products correctly in the store.
  • Carry out daily forklift checks before use and report faults.
  • Follow safety procedures while operating the machine to reduce accident risks.
  • Stack and organise goods properly to save space and prevent damage.
  • Assist with stock movement and loading activities as directed by the supervisor.
  • Keep the forklift clean and park it safely after use.

Qualifications and Experience

Applicants must have:

  • A valid forklift operating licence.
  • Relevant experience in forklift operation.

2. Quality Controller – 1 Position

Work Station: Kigoma
Number of Positions: 1
Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Food Technology
Experience: Minimum of 3 years in a relevant food-processing or quality-assurance role

Role Overview

The Quality Controller will oversee quality standards across milling and food-processing activities, including inspection of raw materials, testing of products, process monitoring, record keeping, and compliance with food safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish, implement, and monitor quality control standards for milling and food-processing activities in line with national and industry regulations.
  • Inspect and test grains and other raw materials on arrival to confirm that they meet required quality and safety specifications.
  • Conduct regular sampling and laboratory testing of in-process and finished products for quality, moisture content, purity, and consistency.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and regulatory requirements, including TBS, TFDA, and other applicable Tanzanian standards.
  • Monitor the milling process for deviations, contamination risks, or defects and recommend corrective action.
  • Maintain accurate inspection, testing, batch, and quality records for traceability and audit purposes.
  • Oversee storage, handling, and packaging practices to maintain product quality and prevent spoilage or contamination.
  • Train and guide production and operations staff on quality standards, hygiene practices, and food safety procedures.
  • Manage calibration and maintenance schedules for quality-testing equipment.
  • Liaise with management, regulators, and auditors and prepare periodic quality performance reports with improvement recommendations.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Food Technology.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a relevant food-processing or quality-assurance role.

3. Milling Machine Operator – 3 Positions

Experience: Minimum of 2 years operating milling or similar processing machines

Role Overview

The Milling Machine Operators will operate and monitor milling equipment to support safe and consistent production of quality milled products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and control milling machines safely to produce quality milled products.
  • Set, adjust, and monitor machine settings to achieve required output and standards.
  • Carry out routine checks and basic maintenance to keep machines operating properly.
  • Report machine faults or breakdowns to the supervisor immediately.
  • Keep machines and the work area clean and follow safety requirements.
  • Monitor the flow of grain and finished products to prevent blockages and waste.
  • Record daily production output and machine performance as required.

Qualifications and Experience

Applicants must have:

  • At least 2 years of experience operating milling or similar processing machines.
