Bagamoyo African Institute of Sciences and Technology (BIST), registered by the National Council for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (NACTVET) with Registration number REG/NACTVET/1185, invites applications from self-motivated, honest, and hardworking individuals to fill various vacant positions.

Vacant Positions & Specific Requirements

1. Business Administration Tutors (5 Posts)

Qualifications: Holder of a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or equivalent qualifications from a recognized institution.
Advantage: At least 2 years of teaching experience or a postgraduate qualification.

2. Accounting and Finance Tutors (5 Posts)

Qualifications: Holder of a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and Finance or equivalent qualifications from a recognized institution.
Advantage: At least 2 years of teaching experience or a postgraduate qualification.

3. Banking and Finance Tutors (5 Posts)

Qualifications: Holder of a Bachelor’s Degree in Banking and Finance or equivalent qualifications from a recognized institution.
Advantage: At least 2 years of teaching experience or a postgraduate qualification.

4. Communication Skills Tutors (5 Posts)

Qualifications: Holder of a Bachelor’s Degree of Arts in Communication Studies/Linguistics with English, BA in English Language, BA in Journalism and Mass Communication, or Bachelor of Education (Arts) majoring in English Language from recognized institutions.
Advantage: At least 2 years of teaching experience or a postgraduate qualification.

5. Transport and Supply Chain Management Tutors (5 Posts)

Qualifications: Holder of a Bachelor’s Degree in Transport and Supply Chain Management (or equivalent qualification in a relevant field) from a recognized institution.
Advantage: At least 2 years of teaching experience or a postgraduate qualification.

6. Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness Tutors (5 Posts)

Qualifications: Holder of a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness (or equivalent qualification in a relevant field) from a recognized institution.
Advantage: At least 2 years of teaching experience or a postgraduate qualification.

7. Agriculture Tutors (5 Posts)

Qualifications: Holder of a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture General, Bachelor of Science in Agriculture (or equivalent qualification in a relevant field) from a recognized institution.
Advantage: At least 2 years of teaching experience or a postgraduate qualification.

8. Agricultural Engineering Tutors (5 Posts)

Qualifications: Holder of a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Engineering (or equivalent qualification in a relevant field) from a recognized institution.
Advantage: At least 2 years of teaching experience or a postgraduate qualification.

9. Animal Health and Production Assistant Tutors (5 Posts)

Qualifications: Holder of a Diploma in Animal Health and Production (or equivalent qualification in a relevant field) from a recognized institution.
Advantage: At least 2 years of teaching experience or a postgraduate qualification.

10. Law Tutors (5 Posts)

Qualifications: Diploma of Laws from a recognized institution or equivalent qualifications.
Advantage: At least 2 years of working experience in teaching business law or a postgraduate qualification.

11. Chinese Language Tutors (5 Posts)

Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Chinese Language, Chinese Studies, Linguistics, Education (Chinese Language), Translation and Interpretation (Chinese), or equivalent from a recognized institution.
Advantage: Native or near-native proficiency in Mandarin Chinese, at least 2 years of teaching experience in Chinese language instruction, or a postgraduate qualification.
Skills: Strong communication, classroom management, curriculum delivery skills, and ability to teach Chinese language at certificate and diploma levels.

Duties and Responsibilities for All Tutors

Teach NTA level 4 – 6 (Diploma).
Prepare learning lessons for tutorial exercises.
Conduct research, seminars, and case studies.
Carry out consultancy and community services under supervision.
Supervise students’ projects.
Prepare teaching manuals.
Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

12. Matron (3 Posts)

Job Purpose: Primary custodian of student welfare, hostel discipline, psychosocial support, and health monitoring within female student accommodation facilities.
Duties: Oversee management, cleanliness, and security of female hostels; guide/counsel students; enforce rules; monitor sick students; keep accurate hostel records.
Qualifications: Diploma in Social Work, Community Development, Counseling Psychology, Education, Guidance and Counseling, or related Social Sciences from a recognized institution.
Advantage: Minimum of 2 years of practical experience in student welfare management, hostel caretaking, or youth mentorship.

13. Nurse (3 Posts)

Job Purpose: Provide primary healthcare, first aid, medical consultations, and health education to students and staff.
Duties: Provide immediate first aid/nursing care; manage college dispensary/sickbay and inventory; refer serious cases to referral hospitals; conduct health awareness and hygiene inspections; maintain confidential records.
Qualifications: Diploma in Nursing from a recognized institution and valid registration with the relevant Professional Council.
Advantage: Working experience in a campus, school, or busy clinical environment.

14. Gardener / Landscaper (2 Posts)

Job Purpose: Responsible for the maintenance, care, and enhancement of college grounds, gardens, flowers, lawns, and green environment.
Duties: Plant, water, prune, weed, and nurture greenery; maintain landscape beauty and campus cleanness; safely operate and maintain gardening tools/equipment; report plant diseases/pests; assist in general outdoor maintenance.
Qualifications: Certificate in Horticulture, Agriculture, Gardening, or proven practical skills/experience in flower care, landscaping, and garden design.
Advantage: Experience in planting, watering, pruning, trimming, applying fertilizers, and maintaining green areas.

Work Experience: Minimum of 2 years of working experience in the same position.
